Another reason why SLI 8x is better - look at the minimum frame rates. SLI 8x is faster than 4x here, right where it counts. This is true even at 1280 x 1024,, where even 4x can dip way below the 25 fps mark. The only thing we have to give up to run Chaos Theory with AA is HDR, which won't work with AA on the GeForce 6 and 7 series of cards.

With SLI 8x, we can still have a fairly fluid gameplay with 30 fps minimum at 1280 x 960. No such luck with 8xS under single or even multirendering mode. It's just too bad that even with SLI 8x, the performance hit of transparency supersampling antialiasing is way too big. If only there was an SLI 4x setting.
Hmm, since Serious Sam II is too heavy, we'll have to use Richard Burns Rally instead to see whether or not SLI 8x is fast enough when combined with transparency supersampling anti aliasing - it's 'lighter than Serious Sam II and quite liberal with transparent textures.
