Homeworld 2 is actually OpenGL based, so ATI's Achilles heel is causing much of the performance difference when AA and AF is not used. The picture changed dramatically when AA and AF comes into play. The Radeon X800XL is slowly but surely moving past the GeForce 6800GT. Of course, you could always drop back to 2xQ AA on the GeForce 6800GT, but it's not the same as 4x AA on the Radeon X900XL. Image quality and performance wise, you'd want to use the Radeon X800XL to play this game.

Here we see more proof of the Radeon X800XL efficiency. The GeForce 6800GT has the raw performance to reach high fps, but it experience quite a big performance hit with AA and AF enabled. The Radeon X800XL is only slightly slower with AA and AF. Remember, the Radeon X800XL is much more effective in removing aliasing in this game so without a doubt the Radeon X800XL is definitely the better card here.
