Ah, NFS: Carbon. Both GeForce 8800GTS is far ahead of the older two
cards, the GeForce 7950GT and Radeon X1950 Pro. Good to know that you
will never drop below 45 fps with and without AA and AF enabled at 1024
x 768 on the GeForce 8800GTS. The Radeon X1950 Pro claims the third
place and GeForce 7950GT is way too slow for a fluid gameplay
experience.
Once again we find ourselves recommending you use the GeForce 8800GTS
only at 1280 x 1024 and below. At 1600 x 1200 with AA and AF, frame
rates are too low, dipping to below 30 fps on more than one occasion.
You generally want to have frame rates around 35 fps for minimum fps an
45 fps for average fps in this game.
EA's developers seem to tweak the game's engine so it walks a tight
balance between graphics and other components in the system. We do not
see a big performance penalty when we enable AA and AF on the GeForce
8800GTS likely because of this.

if you want, you can actually push for higher anti aliasing modes on
the GeForce 8800GTS at 1280 x 1024 and still get away with high enough
frame rates for comfortable gameplay. The performance penalty is what
we expect them to be - enabling 8x and 16x CSAA cost about the same,
but since 8xQ is just a little bit slower and offer more in quality, we
recommend you use this instead. Since this game is more shader bound,
the amount of memory doesn't seem to be important here.
